One Piece manga chapter 1107 is packed to the gills with new info and details to salivate over, but let’s not forget the huge introduction that was made in chapter 1106: the arrival of Dorry and Brogy. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this titanic giant duo, but it is the first time that the Straw Hats are meeting with the full crew.

While reading the chapter you might be wondering where Hajrudin and the other members of the New Giant Pirates that were introduced in a cover story were, and, well, they’re not here, because that’s technically a separate crew entirely. Read below and we’ll give you a full breakdown of the Giant Pirates and New Giant Pirates in One Piece.

The Giant Pirates – also known as the Giant Warrior Pirates – is a crew captained by Dorry and Brogy, the warrior duo that the Straw Hat crew encounters during the Little Garden arc. These two captains were having a duel that lasted 100 years – there’s a reason that they’re both the captain, after all.

Having two captains seems to be a bit of a tradition for the Giant Pirates though, as before Dorry and Brogy the crew was led by Jarul and Jorul, the two elder giants we saw during Big Mom’s backstory. Jarul and Jorul were essentially the leaders of the village on Elbaf, below the giant royal family, which indicates that the Giant Pirates’ existence might be a traditional thing for Elbaf youth. It would explain why Hajrudin founded the New Giant Pirates in their absence, and why a giant youth is begging to go aboard Shanks’ ship, just as Luffy once did.

As for the other members of the Giant Pirates crew, we’ve already met Oimo and Kashi at Enies Lobby. Tey were tricked into guarding the gate for 100 years, at which point the Marines promised to free Dorry and Brogy. Of course, the pair were never captured in the first place, and when Usopp – sorry, Sogeking – tells them the truth, they quickly ally themselves with the Straw Hats.

After the events of Enies Lobby, Oimo and Kashi head to Elbaph, and at some point during the two-year time skip the pair set sail again for Little Garden to pick up their captains. The arrival of the Giant Pirates on Egghead could be influenced by newspaper headlines, but it seems even more likely that Shanks was the one that set this into motion, as he was at Elbaph with Dorry and Brogy following Wano. It also indicates that Shanks was fully aware of the Nika Zoan fruit that Luffy ate all along.

The only other member of this crew – current or former – that we have a name for is Raideen, who was seen training a young Hajrudin in a flashback. I can’t seem to see Raideen in chapter 1107, so I’m assuming he won’t show up again until Elbaph, at the earliest.

As mentioned above, the New Giant Pirates – also known as the New Giant Warrior Pirates – were founded by Hajrudin during the 100-year absence of Dorry and Brogy. We first meet Hajrudin in Dressrosa, as the sole giant participant in the Corrida Colosseum tournament. Luffy handily defeated him during the tournament, and the Straw Hats’ efforts to free the country had Hajrudin freely join the Straw Hat Grand Fleet as one of the founding members.

Before the events of Dressrosa Hajrudin and the New Giant Pirates were the highest earners for Buggy’s Delivery Company, but the crew split from Buggy after joining the Straw Hat Grand Fleet.

Thanks to that cover story I mentioned, we actually have names for the main members of the New Giant Pirates, which includes Stansen, Road, Goldberg, and Gerd. Stansen is actually the first member of the crew that we see in the series, as he is the giant that is to be auctioned off along with Silvers Rayleigh on Sabaody Archipelago when Luffy punches the Celestial Dragon. Gerd is also the young girl that speaks with Big Mom during her childhood flashback. All of the New Giant Pirates were S-ranked mercenaries with Buggy’s Delivery Company before they quit.

Unfortunately there’s not much more to be said about this crew, as we simply haven’t seen them do anything yet.

But that’s all set to change soon. It’s very clear now that Elbaph is the next island that the Straw Hat crew will head to, and they will definitely learn far more about both Giant Pirate crews, the history of the giants, and hopefully much more.
