Amy's on Franklin to close, rebrand at end of April

Amy’s on Franklin will close, according to a post on the Facebook page, at the end of April, to renovate before reopening as Bad Randy’s Hot Chicken and BBQ Lounge. The restaurant has shared that it is hiring servers, dishwashers, and potentially a cook for Bad Randy's.

Amy's on Franklin, and soon Bad Randy's Hot Chicken & BBQ Lounge, is at 1418 W. Franklin St.; 812-401-2332.

International Food Night at Bethel UCC

Bethel United Church of Christ will host an International Food Night on Saturday, April 27, from 6-8 p.m. There will be dishes to sample from Greece, Italy, Sweden, China, Mexico and possibly others. There will also be a silent auction. All proceeds will support the Bethel UCC food pantry, Pat's Pantry. Tickets are $30 per person and can be purchased in advance at the church or on Vanco.

Cosmos Bistro reopened under Chef Tyler Plagmann

Cosmos Bistro, the Downtown restaurant inside the McCurdy Building, Is now open under the leadership of Chef Tyler Plagmann. The menu is fine dining. The opening night menu featured goat cheese and caramelized onion tart, onion soup gratinee, lobster agnolotti, and filet of beef with charred onion bordelaise. Evansville Taco Festival

The sixth annual Evansville Taco Festival will happen Saturday, April 27, from 1-7 p.m. at the Main Street Food & Beverage food hall. Stop by for more than 20 taco vendors, live Mariachi music, specialty adult beverages, games, a chile pepper eating contest, taco-centric dress contest, a cornhole tournament and more. Admission starts at $9.95 and includes your first drink, which might be a sponsored beer, soda or bottled water. For more information call 812-202-8171.

Helms Greenhouse in Richland is now picking the first ripe tomatoes of the year. Also available are hanging baskets, bedding plants, and more.

Spring Wine Walk

The Spring Wine Walk by Romain Cross Pointe will happen in the 200 and 300 blocks of Main Street on Friday, April 26, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Registration is near the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana building at 212 Main St. Join the event for wine from Oliver Winery in Bloomington, live entertainment, dining and shopping. Admission is $15 if purchased ahead and $25 the day of the event, and includes a commemorative tumbler and two tickets for one four-ounce pour of wine each. Additional drink tickets will be sold for $5 each. Complete a Wine Walk passport to be entered into prize giveaways. Guests must be 21 or older to attend.

Wine Vault Walk About at Venue 812

The Wine Vault and Venue 812 Will host the Wine Vault Walk About at Venue 812 on Wednesday, April 24, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Heavy hors d'oeuvres from Venue 812 will be offered alongside over 50 wines and beers for tasting. Tickets are $40 per person.

Eat your weeds

A Yard Pesto class led by the Jubilee Funny Farm and focused on foraging will be held at the Miller Barn on Saturday, April 27, beginning at 2 p.m. Learn to identify, gather and prepare wild plants to make a pesto that's delicious on crackers, veggies and more. The event is pay-what-feels-good-to-you. RSVP by calling 562-310-2406.
