Erin and Ben Napier have created countless kitchens together, but never in the history of Home Town have we seen one quite like this.

In the show’s most recent episode, Erin and Ben help New Jersey transplants Bob and Tena Tomarazzo create their dream home in Laurel, Mississippi. The Tomarazzos are excited to live a more affordable lifestyle in their new home and to entertain friends and family often.

Knowing how much they were looking forward to hosting, the Napiers decided to construct an oversized kitchen featuring a custom “super island” for the couple.

Ben used rough oak to make a 10-by-3-foot island with a built-in spice rack and numerous drawers and cubbies for storage. He called it “the ultimate island for someone who is wanting to cook and have a lot of people over.”

Mission accomplished.

Tena, who was so thrilled by the island that she jokingly asked Ben to marry her, wasn’t the only one who was impressed with the massive feature. Erin liked the “super island” so much that she found herself wanting one of her own.

“Can I say this might be my favorite thing you’ve ever built?” Erin told her husband, per an episode recap on Realtor.com. “Like, I wish that I had it in my kitchen.”

That’s high praise given just how beautiful the kitchen is in the Napiers’ new country home. Erin describes their Downton Abbey-inspired kitchen as “a classic and casual English style that’s utilitarian but kind of elegant.”

“This is the only room we use constantly,” Erin told Southern Living in a 2022 cover story. “It’s our favorite place. Everything happens here.”
