Emily Ratajkowski Wins the Breakup With ‘Divorce Rings’

It's a tale as old as divorce. Once the marriage is over, what are you supposed to do with the rings? If you're Emily Ratajkowski, you repurpose them into a whole new piece of jewelry. She calls them “divorce rings.” On March 19 the model and author posted a carousel of photos of herself lounging topless in bed, and showing off her two divorce rings—which were repurposed from her original two-stone engagement ring by the same jeweler, Alison Lou.

Also on Instagram, Alison Lou posted, “A little BTS” about the making of Ratajkowski's new pieces. “We repurposed Emily’s original, iconic two stone engagement ring, that left a mark on the industry, and created these two beauties. As inspiring as her engagement ring was, we cannot wait to see the evolution of Divorce Rings,” the brand wrote in the caption, alongside a video showing the redesign process. Over clips of the new rings being sketched, then crafted, the video also featured speech bubbles taken from texts between EmRata and the jeweler.

Emily Ratajkowski said it herself back in September 2023, following Sophie Turner's split from Joe Jonas: “Personally, I find it chic to be divorced by the age of 30.”
