Dragon’s Dogma 2 Gets Sensational Overview From Hollywood Star Ian McShane

Dragons Dogma 2

It looks like the video game industry has found a new formula to get new players up to speed on their long-running franchises. Following a glorious recap video for Tekken 8 from Succession lead Brian Cox, another Hollywood star has lent their voice to explain an upcoming game. Capcom has released a new gameplay overview for Dragon’s Dogma 2 and hired American Gods and John Wick star Ian McShane to voice it.

The video explains the basic backstory of the Dragon’s Dogma franchise, explores more of the game’s open world and ends with McShane talking about the various beasts that roam in it. Watch the video below:

Dragon's Dogma 2 will take place in an alternate universe, with similar plot beats to the original. Yes, the protagonist has their heart stolen by a dragon and is reincarnated as the Arisen. The game will feature a rivalry between the human kingdom of Vermund and the Beastren nation of Battahl. McShane's game overview also gives us a detailed look at Vernworth, a palace above the capital city.

The video shows us just enough to get excited about it in a packed week, which will also see Team Ninja's PS5 exclusive Rise of the Ronin and Horizon: Forbidden West's PC port get released. Needless to say, a lot of gamers will be getting less than desirable amounts of sleep in the coming week.

In case you don't want to experience the first game by yourself, it was given away on PlayStation Plus back in November, so you may want to check out your PSN library. To prepare for the sequel, Capcom has released a demo in the form of a character creator. You can pour hours into the creator to have your protagonist ready to face the wild in the game, as progress from the demo carries over to the final game.
