Dragon’s Dogma 2: The Arisen’s Shadow – Accept or Refuse Bermudo’s Bribe?

Dragon's Dogma Bermudo

Early on during your adventures in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll be alerted to a suspicious person tailing you. Being a stalker, this could happen anywhere, but you’ll be able to identify them if you look for a hooded NPC nearby that shouts “You!” and runs away whenever you get close. It’s a dead giveaway, really.

In this guide we’re breaking down exactly what they look like, and how to confront them to complete The Arisen’s Shadow quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Once you’ve found the hooded stalker pictured above, Bermudo, you will need to grab him to find out why he’s following your every move. And I mean grab literally – just talking to him won’t work.

You can grab items and NPCs in this game with RT/R2 on a controller. This will pin Bermudo to the ground, forcing him to explain why he’s following you, completing the quest – after you consider his bargain, that is.

Should You Accept Bermudo’s Gold? – DD2

When the conversation starts, you’ll get two options:

  • Refuse

  • Demand compensation

If you demand compensation, another two dialogue options will appear:

  • Refuse his gold

  • Accept his gold

If you accept the bribe, you’ll get a few thousand gold and he’ll disappear into the night.

If you refuse, you fight him, he’s captured, and Captain Brant throws him into the gaol for interrogation.

The quest will then update and tell you to “wait a few days and speak to Captain Brant.”

When you return to the captain you’ll learn the stalker was an agent for Battahl and he’ll pay you 4,000 gold for your assistance.
