Opening day soon for Downtown Marquette Farmers Market

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WJMN) – The Downtown Marquette Farmers Market will open back up for the season on May 18th and run through the end of October.

“New this year we have the farmers market membership,” said Brian Shier, Market Manager. “So, if you are a customer who is coming to the market you can get a garlic bin as well as some cool benefits at the market.”

She also said they have power produce coming back. “In July and August you can come down here, the Community foundation funded it,” Shier said. “Partridge Creek will be down here doing fun activity with kids and giving them little five-dollar tokens to go buy produce for themselves. The market starts May 18th and goes to the end of October. We have a Wednesday night market that starts June 19th and goes until the end of August.”

The market is open rain or shine, so be prepared for any kind of weather. They ask you do not bring your dogs. Many vendors accept food assistance.
