Downtown Champaign Wine Walk returns for 4th year

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Local wine connoisseurs, get ready: the Downtown Champaign Wine Walk is returning in May.

The fourth annual Wine Walk will take place on May 4 from 2 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. For the event, 14 businesses across downtown Champaign will offer samples of 17 diverse wines.

Participating businesses include:

  • Live Action Games

  • Ten Thousand Villages

  • Suzu’s Bakery

  • Fire Doll Studio

  • Greener Goods Shop & Refillery

  • Furniture Lounge

  • Cafe Kopi

  • The Literary

  • WEFT 90.1

  • PACA

  • Champaign Park District Springer Cultural Center

  • Big Grove Tavern

  • The Inman by Royse + Brinkmeyer Apartments

Wines were selected by Scott McIntosh, General Manager of Big Grove Tavern. If you take a liking to any wine samplings, Big Grove Tavern, The Literary and Fire Doll Studio will offer the chosen wines by the glass and the bottle.

Tickets are currently available for those 21 or older at $32 per person. A Wine Walk guide and a reusable wine sampling goblet will be included with each ticket purchase.

Check-in will be located at the ground-level lobby of The Inman by Royse + Brinkmeyer Apartments at 17 East University Avenue. Participants will need their tickets and valid photo IDs for check in. They will then receive Wine Walk wristbands that must be worn throughout the event.

All Wine Walk proceeds will go to Champaign Center Partnership, a non-profit that serves local businesses.

Each of these businesses holds a special place in our city, and I am thrilled to provide them with a platform to showcase all they have to offer while providing a fun event for our community members.”
