Co-parenting? Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump got their daughter a puppy for her birthday

Donald Trump Jr. has been sharing lots of cute moments with his kids on Instagram lately, and in his latest post he shares that his daughter Kai got an early birthday present — a puppy.

Based on the comments on the post, Trump Jr. may have edited the caption, which initially referred to Kai being the dog’s new mom. It appears the “new mom” reference confused some people, who felt he was being disrespectful to his estranged wife, Vanessa Trump.

However, his use of the word “we” when talking about the decision to let their daughter Kai adopt a dog seems to show that the couple are working to co-parent their five children. Recently, both Trump Jr. and Vanessa shared photos from a family vacation at Mar-a-Lago, showing that they spent the break together, with their children.

However, Kai may want to keep a close eye on her new puppy, as her dad seems pretty enamored with the cute dog. He posted a second Instagram threatening to steal the pup, writing, “She won’t be happy but I believe dads can do that.”

Earlier this week, the father of five shared a cute video of his two youngest children, 5-year-old Spencer and 3-year-old Chloe, horsing around with their dad and shooting Nerf guns at one another.

Don Jr., who seems to be an involved parent, captioned the video with an explanation of what the kids were doing. “Morning nerf gun battle time. Spencer and Chloe really abusing me me this AM … but now it may be time to fight back with tickle time.”

Several commenters called out Trump Jr. for not teaching his daughter modesty and putting her on Instagram without a shirt.

“Very cute, but daddy put a shirt on your little girl,” instructed one commenter. “Teach her modesty. Not too young to start.”

Since his split from Vanessa, Trump Jr. seems to have been hit with one negative story after another, from model Melissa Stetten posting a flirty tweet that Trump Jr. sent to her in 2011 to another about allegations that he treated Vanessa like a second-class citizen. In light of what seems to be an ugly breakup, including persistent rumors of an alleged affair with singer Aubrey O’Day, and his soon-to-be ex-wife reportedly “going gangster” on her, Trump Jr. seems to be trying to turn things around by taking to the gym, getting a makeover, romancing his rumored new girlfriend, and spending quality time with his kids.
