Dogs' Reactions to Hearing Their Names Called at Daycare Have People Grinning

How does your dog respond to hearing its name? Our puppy gets so excited when she hears her name and immediately expects to eat, get a treat, or go outside. There's tail wagging - which leads to tail chasing - and big smiles. It's the cutest thing ever!

Peli Rojas Pets shared a video at the beginning of April showing us all how puppies at doggy daycare respond to their names, and it'll make you smile. There are high fives, tail wags, and tongue wagging. They all get so happy to hear their names! Watch until the end because as they say in the video's caption, you're not ready for Walter!

This is beyond cute! I did not expect Walter's reaction at all! I thought he was moseying right passed her but he decided to hop up for a kiss instead. Commenters shared their favorite dog's reaction. Dahlia said of Peli's video, "Walter looks like a Walter, just seeing him had me cackling LOL!" @DoubleJ66 laughed, "Rylee was like "What?? Rylee Who?? Oh Oh OMG Its me. Im Rylee"!!!" and another added, "It’s Mr. Poopy knowing him name LOL!!!" @Gina shouted, "WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT MR. CHONKLATE?! OH MY HEART!" @jiunhr said, "Why is Shortbread so cute, can't handle it!!" I think it's safe to say everybody loved this video!

Benefits of Taking Your Dog to Daycare

If you're a working paw-rent, have you ever considered taking your pup to day care? I work from home but many pet parents have to go to work each day, and leaving their dog home alone all day might bring on guilty feelings. Since we all feel that parent guilt, I thought I'd introduce some benefits of them attending daycare even if it's just a day or two each week.

Heart and Paw say one of the biggest benefits of day care is that your dog learns socialization in a safe environment. They'll learn how to interact and communicate other dogs, something they may not have an opportunity to do if you don't take your dog out with other dogs. Not only that, they'll also be interacting with humans that they don't know. Does your dog crave attention all day long or get separation anxiety? They'll get lots attention and love at doggy daycare!

Since I work from home, it's hard for me to stop and take my dog out for breaks that she needs. Doggy day care is a great way to make sure that your dog is getting exercise, especially if they're home alone all day. They can run and play with other dogs and burn off energy that they usually have to keep bundled up until you get home.

Many day cares also offer on-site grooming services or will work with your fur baby on training and commands. It sounds like it's too good to be true, right?! You can find daycares everywhere, and while the price is going to be different based on where you live and the services the daycare provides, you can expect to pay an average of about $40 a day. Not too bad if you're only doing it once a week or even for a few hours each day.
