Last month, New Regency announced its plans to postpone the release of The Bikeriders among suspension of SAG-AFTRA negotiations, but now its future is unclear.

Sources say the film is being shopped around after Disney removed it from its slate. New Regency's distribution partnership with Disney has included films such as The Creator and Amsterdam, both of which did not do spectacularly well at the box office.

The Bikeriders has a fantastic cast, including Tom Hardy, Austin Butler, Michael Shannon, Mike Faist and Jodie Comer. It follows the rise and fall of a Midwestern motorcycle club, adapted from Danny Lyon's 1967 photobook of the same name.

It is Jeff Nichols' first feature since 2016 and received high praise during its festival run in the fall, which landed it 85% on Rotten Tomatoes from 34 reviews.

Currently, it is unclear if Disney will remain attached if the film doesn't find another home. New Regency is apparently looking at all options, including streaming services.
