Dick Van Dyke, 97, Spotted Having a Magical Time at Disneyland with Wife

There’s no age limit on having a magical day at Disneyland—just ask 97-year-old Dick Van Dyke.

The Mary Poppins star was seen at the Anaheim, Calif., theme park over the weekend with his wife, Arelene Silver, 52.

In photos obtained by Page Six, Van Dyke was escorted around the park in a wheelchair by a cast member, though that didn’t stop him from checking out all the shows and engaging with fans.

The actor made a stop to watch the Dapper Dans musical quartet, and was later seen waving to crowds from a balcony in New Orleans Square.

In the clip taken by an onlooker and posted on Instagram, Van Dyke is standing and leaning on the railing, smiling and even mouthing “Hi, guys,” to those who came to see him.

The comment section was positively obsessed with the Diagnosis: Murder star sighting, with one calling him a “TRUE DISNEY LEGEND!”

Many couldn’t get over how vibrant he appeared for his age, noting, “Still going strong for 97❤️!” and “My god, what is his aging secret.”

“He just appears so cheerful and happy ☺️” one fan noted, as another called him a “national treasure.”

”We need a Mary Poppins ride at Disney,” someone else quipped—and that’s an idea we can all get behind.

It’s reassuring to see Van Dyke in good spirits, as he was previously involved in a car accident back in March. While giving an update on his injuries, he explained that the airbag "did not deploy, so I just did a faceplant right in the steering wheel.”

However, he still kept his sense of humor, joking, “Other than that, [the accident] just made me a little dumber.”

The Chitty Chitty Bang Bang star hasn’t let age stop him from fully living his life, recently booking his first-ever soap opera role on the long-running Days of Our Lives. In August, he also shared a video of himself learning to play the ukulele with a friend, noting in the caption that it’s “never too late to start something new.”

As for the secret to staying youthful in his mid-90s, he credited it all to exercise, revealing, “I still go to the gym three days a week and work out.”
