The legendary actor was involved in an accident on March 15.

Dick Van Dyke, 97, was involved in a car collision in Malibu, California, on March 15, police have confirmed.

The veteran actor sustained "minor injuries" after his vehicle, a silver 2018 Lexus LS 500, slid and crashed into a gate, a spokesperson from Malibu Police Dept. told CNN of the incident. The area has reportedly been experiencing record rains.

Paramedics treated the star at the scene, police say, though he was not transported to the hospital. TMZ, who was first to report about the accident, were told via sources that the Mary Poppins icon's nose and mouth were bleeding, and that he may have possibly suffered a concussion.

The fire department had also been notified of the accident at the time, however, no further details are currently available about the condition of the actor, who became the oldest contestant ever to appear on Fox singing contest The Masked Singer just last month, performing as Gnome for Season 9.

"I had never even seen the show when they asked me. So I checked it out and it looked like a lot of fun," he told PEOPLE, after his exit from the series. "I was positive they wouldn't be able to guess who I was. And I was right!"

On the show, he belted Frank Sinatra's "When You're Smiling," a song choice given by his wife, Arlene Silver—who he also recently divulged is the secret to his fountain of youth, crediting her as the source for his positive attitude. "They wanted me to do something current and I know nothing from rock," the actor admitted. "So we picked out one which typifies me. She's the one that came up with it and I liked the song, too."

Van Dyke starred in classic children’s films such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mary Poppins, as well as his own The Dick Van Dyke Show, which ran on CBS from 1961 to 1966. He also won a Tony award for his role in the musical Bye-Bye Birdie, in addition to his four Emmys and one Grammy.
