Why is this a good deal?

This appliance handles both wet and dry messes, and it doubles as a hand vac. Regularly $450, the Tineco Floor One S5 Combo can be yours for $315 for one more day during the Amazon Big Spring Sale. This is the most affordable this vacuum's been since Black Friday.

Why do I need this?

At first glance, the Floor One S5 looks like a fairly traditional upright vacuum, but it's really more of a floor washer. In place of the usual brush-type roller you see under most vacuums is a solid, fuzzy roller designed to seriously scrub a hard floor.

The Floor One employs two tanks: One that holds clean water (and a dash of Tineco's cleaning solution) and another for the dirty water that gets sucked up.

But this is a hand vac, too: You just push a button to release the upper part, then snap in a crevice tool or 2-in-1 brush tool. (These items reside in a standalone storage tray when not in use.) The vacuum itself docks in a charger/stand that allows for self-cleaning, again with the push of a button.

I recently got the chance to test-drive the S5 Combo, and here's what I can tell you: It works really well on wet or sticky floors, but it's kind of a complicated device — at first, anyway. There's just a lot going on here. For starters, there's a companion app — yes, this vacuum has Wi-Fi — that can provide maintenance updates and cleaning reports, but do you really need that? I say skip it.

I also had a hard time figuring out the various status indicators on the digital display, which indicate things like eco mode and dirt monitoring. Call me old-fashioned, but I find that stuff superfluous. Just suck up the spilled milk and be done with it, vacuum!

Even so, if you have little kids, pee-prone animals or other liquid-mess creators, there's no question the S5 Combo is a great tool to have on hand. And the hand vac is a superb addition.

"When this came, I had just steam mopped the night before," one five-star reviewer wrote. "Ran it once and holyyyyy nasty water!!! This thing is 10000% worth it."

Another shopper whose husband was a bit hesitant after seeing the original price (it wasn't on sale when they purchased it), admitted that her hubby was converted after seeing how well it cleaned their floors. "This has made it immensely easier and quicker than I ever could have dreamed," the impressed shopper said.

If you have a "busy home," this reviewer said this is a product you'll be so glad you bought. "With small children and lots of animals running around, keeping my floors clean has always been a challenge, but this vacuum has made my life so much easier," said this reviewer.

Some shoppers noted, though, that the biggest — and often the only — issue they've had is that the battery drains pretty quickly, but they double-down that the power is next-level. "All in all, I assume it is because it's operating at a more powerful rate," one shopper wrote. "It still covers most of my bottom floor floor, so not a huge issue."
