Thom Sweeney’s latest collection combines relaxed West Coast style with refined British elegance. Who better, then, to showcase the garb than David Duchovny?

The British menswear label has enlisted the actor to be the face of the new Spring/Summer 2024 line. “Duchovny epitomizes the essence of the Thom Sweeney man: timeless taste, understated confidence, and innate authenticity,” the brand shared in a statement on Tuesday.

The Californication lead fittingly sported the new pieces on the streets of London, the birthplace of Thom Sweeney. Savile Row-trained tailors Thom Whiddett and Luke Sweeney opened their first store in a former gallery in Mayfair in 2009. Fast forward 15 years, Thom Sweeney is now a leading luxury brand with outposts in London and New York. The label’s tailored designs, which combine an understated, contemporary aesthetic with craftsmanship, have become popular with an A-list clientele of celebrities, sports stars, businessmen, and evidently, actors.

The brand’s vision for this season is rooted in the sophistication of mid-century Hollywood. The collection includes several options for dressing down, with lightweight polo shirts, refined outerwear, and updated takes on classic knitwear. Highlights of the Duchovny edit include a double-breasted mohair suit ($2,745), calf leather derby shoes ($640), a linen bomber jacket ($2,995), suede sneakers ($495), a couple of pairs of pleated wool trousers ($745), a cashmere silk t-shirt ($560), and an unstructured cashmere blazer. Many of the pieces are, of course, conducive to layering, which is a must throughout spring.

Thom Sweeney isn’t just knitting together cultures in clothes, either. The brand opened a new Thom Sweeney Loft in Los Angeles last month. Featuring interiors by renowned designer Billy Cotton, the Melrose Place location aims to evoke the private clubs of Hollywood’s golden age and is equipped with the label’s swanky signature bar, Sol’s. Several bespoke tailors from Mayfair to Manhattan have launched stylish watering holes, in a bid to elevate the shopping experience.

The L.A. loft stocks the entire ready-to-wear collection and offers a made-to-measure tailoring service year-round. It also hosts regular bespoke trunk shows for clients, with fittings by appointment on-site. Essentially, it’s a little slice of Savile Row on Melrose.
