Dates for Florida's 5 summer seasons: mullet, lobster, alligator, hurricane, red snapper

Summer brings more than just heat to the Treasure Coast. Here are 5 seasons for outdoors enthusiasts:

  • Red snapper fishing season: July 12-13, if NOAA Fisheries announces a season at all. Stay tuned.

  • Lobster sport season: July 24-25, or last consecutive Wednesday and Thursday each July.

  • Alligator hunting season: Aug. 15 to Nov. 8. Weeks assigned during May application period.

  • Fall mullet run: Starts off Sebastian Inlet around September full moon. Ends in late October or with first hurricane.

  • Hurricane season: June 1 to Nov. 30, but remember, it only takes one.
