Curious Sea Lions Get Up Close and Personal With Filmmaker in the Galapagos

Talk about having a cool job! @Bertie Gregory is a filmmaker who works with National Geographic, and he gets to film all kinds of animals and call it work. He shared a video on Saturday, September 16th and I can't help but be a little jealous!

The clip shows him in the water in the Galapagos with two sea lions playing around him. One comes up and nips at him twice, but he doesn't even seem to be a bit bothered by it! He goes on to explain that scientifically the sea lions are practicing hunting and not playing...but he also says that he can't help but think that maybe they are just having some fun, too!

@Bertie Gregory says in his caption that the sea lions got very comfortable around him, and maybe a bit too comfortable. He also says that their "playing" helps them become better predators. I liked in the video that he explained what their whiskers were for, and it's cool that they can hunt at night and still find fish by using them.

There weren't many comments, but there were some good ones. @Cowgirl.217 shared, "I’ve seen Sea Lions close up. They are extremely strong! Bigger than you think too!" @Maya wasn't wrong when she said, "Sea lions are basically just giant water puppies LOL!" as did @Emma who agreed, "Just some playful sea dogs!"

I think it would be so fun to be able to swim around and play with sea lions. But I wouldn't have been nearly as calm as Bertie was if one nipped at me!
