Curious Giraffe Makes Friends with a Baby Deer and It's So Sweet

If you need something to brighten up your day, the interaction between a giraffe and a baby deer in this video will do it! @Unilad posted the sweet exchange on Tuesday, August 22nd and I could watch it all day!

Jett the Giraffe lives at a safari park in Folsom, Louisianna. He was minding his own business when the cutest little fawn decided to pay him a visit. The two both check each other out, neither of them the least bit afraid. After they've said hello to each other, the baby deer runs off as Jett and the other giraffes watch him go.

Jett is the father of three, and Erika Ferraris from Global Wildlife Center explains that he's "...curious about the animals around him such other giraffes, ducks, geese, and babies!” She goes on to add, "It is unusual for bulls [male giraffes] to show interest in their offspring, but Jett is often seen spending time near them and will even nuzzle them affectionately." He's a good daddy and very friendly to strangers. Now I want to go visit him!

Commenters adored the sweet exchange. Many people just tagged friends. One commenter was spot on (pun intended) when they said about the cute little fawn, ""You look like me, but why you small?"" @ahmed.bilal48 made me laugh with, "Introverts trying to blend at social gatherings". Of course, there's always gotta be one party pooper in the bunch. @Thespicyblondie left not one but two comments: "Can someone explain why there is a giraffe in Louisiana??????" and "Send those babies to Africa".

@ladyaj624 wondered, "Anyone else seeing this post right after a post about a brown spotless giraffe calf?" If you haven't seen that video yet, definitely check it out - he's literally one of a kind and very cool to see!
