'CSI: Vegas' Season 3 Returns With a Search for the Killer Who Framed Josh Folsom for Murder

Marg Helgenberger, Paula Newsome, Mandeep Dhillon

The season 2 finale of CSI: Vegas was a stunner with Josh Folsom (Matt Lauria) being taken away in handcuffs for the murder of the man who murdered his mother. When the crime scene investigation series returns, the CSIs will use all the technology and skill they possess to prove his innocence even as the decks are stacked against him.

When CSI first premiered, it introduced viewers to new technology in crime solving, causing what law enforcement calls the "CSI Effect" with juries expecting forensic evidence to prove crimes, and the reboot is continuing the tradition, introducing the latest in science amidst the neon lights of sin city.

Who will be joining CSI: Vegas in season 3?

Having seen the premiere episode, it can be revealed that Grimm alum Reggie Lee will recur in season 3 as Zhao, the new undersheriff of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Lee also had starred in All Rise alongside Helgenberger, who played a judge on the series.

How did season 2 of CSI: Vegas end?

The finale of CSI: Vegas season 2 was Josh Folsom-centric. We see Josh spying on his mother (Lolita Davidovich), who has returned to using drugs and as a way of supporting her habit, she's become a mule. When she's murdered, Josh, along with Trey (Daniel Di Tomasso), tracks down the man who is guilty of the crime, Kahn Schefter (Shane Callahan), and pretends he's killing him by having him bleed out to get information. But the blood isn't really Schecter's. It's from blood bags. During the interrogation, Josh sees scratches on Schecter's arm and realizes he's the actual killer, not just someone who knows who the killer is. When later Schefter is found dead in a trash bin, Josh is arrested for his murder.

Are there any season 3 spoilers for CSI: Vegas?

The third season will pick up right after Josh is arrested for the murder of Kahn Schefter. Of course, the CSI team is on the case, sifting through every iota of evidence to try to prove his innocence.

How many episodes of CSI: Vegas Season 3 will there be?

Due to the strike delay, it’s hard to say at this point, but CSI: Vegas should have at least 10 episodes in its third season.
