Crunchyroll Anime Awards Announces Categories, Voting And Streaming Date

Streaming service Crunchyroll has revealed the categories and judges for next year’s Anime Awards.

The annual Crunchyroll Anime Awards will be held on March 2, 2024 and will be streamed live from an event held in Tokyo, Japan. Held since 2017 the event recognizes and awards anime’s best films, shows, and the people who make them.

Anime fans will be able to vote for their favourites between January 17 and January 27, with one entry allowed per day. As well as expected categories such as Best Drama, Best Character Design, Best Original Anime and Best New Series, it also includes more fun votes.

The Best Slice of Life award goes to a nominee that captures relationships, emotion and humour, while the Must Protect At All Costs Character award goes to a nominee that fans feel make the world a kinder place.

Last year’s winners included Cyberpunk: Edgerunners for Anime of the Year, Spy x Family for Best New Series, Jujutsu Kaisen as Best Film and Eren Jaeger as Best Main Character from Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2.

Judges for the Crunchyroll Anime Awards include journalists, YouTubers, influencers and editors from across anime, games and entertainment media.
