The 2024 BAFTA TV nominations—the most prestigious awards for British television—are here, and The Crown's final season leads the list. The Netflix royal drama scored eight nods, but missed out on a nomination for Best Drama Series.

The Crown is up for four acting nominations: Best Supporting Actress for Elizabeth Debicki, who played Princess Diana, and Lesley Manville, who portrayed Princess Margaret. Dominic West is nominated for Lead Actor for his role as Prince Charles, and Salim Daw, who played Mohamed Al Fayed, is up for Best Supporting Actor. The show is also nominated in the costume design, makeup and hair design, sound, and special effects categories. (See the full list of nominees here.)

Prince William is the president of the BAFTAs, and he typically attends the Film Awards, which take place every February. This year, he went solo, sans Kate Middleton, who is recovering from abdominal surgery. At the 2020 BAFTAs, he even cracked a joke about The Crown, saying "I am particularly proud to stand here tonight having served as BAFTA’s President for the last 10 years. However, I must admit I don’t know whether I should be proud, or slightly alarmed, about the number of winners over the last decade who have portrayed members of my own family."

The BAFTA TV Awards will be hosted by comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan, and will be air on BBC One and iPlayer on May 12, 2024. It will be broadcast in the U.S. on BritBox.
