Tracey Hannah, a retired World Cup racer laced up (or more likely boa’d) her cleats again to go race in her hometown of Cairns, beating National Champion Ellie Smith by nearly 20 seconds. Her experience racing in variable conditions in World Cups certainly helped her.

Connor Fearon, the flat pedal riding downhill legend put down a fast run and beat local hero Joel Sutherland and dual slalom third-place finisher Jackson Frew. Fearon, came in 22nd at Fort William this spring. Tracey Hannah’s brother Mick, is a perennial threat in Cairns, but he suffered a mechanical and did not finish.
