One Michigan baby made quite the unexpected entrance into the world last week.

Kathryn and Jordan Norsigian were headed to the hospital to welcome son Jordan on Friday, April 5, just after 5 a.m. local time, but the baby "couldn't wait," the city of Farmington Hills said in a Facebook post.

"After a 911 call and some assistance from Farmington Hills firefighter/paramedics Sgt. Tim Persichino and Sgt. Robin Chevrette, baby Jordan made his debut in the passenger seat of his parents’ Chevy, less than two minutes after the FHFD crew arrived on scene!" the city added.

Kathryn and Jordan planned to have their baby delivered at the hospital, and when they called 911 looking for an escort to get them there quickly, the dispatcher said an ambulance could meet them, ABC affiliate WXYZ reported.

As luck would have it, Persichino and Chevrette were already nearby.

"When they got there, it was a sigh of relief," Jordan told the station. Then Kathryn began screaming that the baby was coming — and after some pushes, baby Jordan was born, weighing 7 lbs, 3 oz.

Following the delivery, Kathryn walked into the nearby ambulance and was taken to the hospital to be checked out by doctors.

But Chevrette disagrees, telling the outlet that "it’s part of our job and our duty" — but he is glad that they "did a good job."

City officials remarked, "It’s an unconventional birth story with a happy ending — mom and baby Jordan are happy, healthy and back home with the family, thanks to quick thinking and professionalism by Farmington Hills first responders."
