Costco has low-key become one of the best places to source a backyard greenhouse. Maybe that doesn’t come as such a huge surprise to you, considering Costco carries just about everything under the sun. Or maybe you saw this small-space wooden wonder featured on Apartment Therapy before, so you are already in the know?

Whatever your familiarity, I have to flag another share Costco greenhouse find, the Palram Canopia Oasis Hexagonal Greenhouse, for all your spring gardening needs. It’s the perfect splurge for transforming a smallish yard into a little slice of English cottage-inspired countryside, thanks to its charming hexagonal shape, louvered glass panels, and traditional-looking powder-coated aluminum frame.

With this design, you get none of the industrial vibes greenhouses can often have — particularly if they’re rectangular and nondescript.

At approximately 8 feet long by 7 feet wide, this greenhouse (or conservatory, as the Brits sometimes call it), offers a fair amount of space for your favorite flowers, plants, and seed starters (although serious gardeners may want to size up to the 10-by-12-foot model).

It needs to be set up either on a sound patch of grass/ground or on some kind of a foundation, whether concrete, pressure-treated wood, or paver blocks. But other than that, according to reviews, it’s pretty straightforward to build (recruit a helper, if possible, for ease, and don’t attempt to assemble in the wind) and ready to go out-of-the-box. And its looks? Well, that’s where this design really delivers.

$1,249.99 at Costco

“Best little greenhouse for hobby purposes,” writes one reviewer. “Absolutely gorgeous and perfect for a small space.”

The greenhouse isn’t exactly cheap, with its price tag of $1,249.99 (including shipping). But other retailers are selling the same model for up to $800 more, and it should hold up for several seasons, barring any true natural disasters.

“The finished greenhouse is complemented by our English garden,” says another buyer. “At first we were worried if it’s not strong enough to endure wind storms, but the finished product seems very sturdy and looks great in our garden.”
