Colorado's Arapahoe Basin Ski Area Dusted By Beautiful Summer Snowfall
Today is Friday, September 15th, 2023, and Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, Colorado is sporting a gorgeous dusting of summer snowfall.
Arapahoe Basin is a perennial favorite to be the first ski area open in North America each season. With peak elevations exceeding 13,000 feet above sea level, summer snow isn't uncommon, but it's something to celebrate, nonetheless!
Check out the webcam image of A-Basin's Montezuma Bowl captured earlier this morning:
It's not much, but even a light dusting of frosty flakes should provide relief for a skier's eyes yearning for winter.
Arapahoe Basin technically picked up their first snowfall earlier this week when snow accumulated on the highest peaks of the ski area's famous East Wall. This storm, however, is the first time we've seen snow actually fall on trails.

We've midway through September, and it's not completely unreasonable to think that Arapahoe Basin could be open in as little as one month.
In fact, neighboring ski area Loveland and Arapahoe Basin opened in 2009 on October 7th and October 9th, respectively. That season was jumpstarted by a series of early-Autumn blizzards.
