Jennifer Lopez graced the 2024 Met Gala in a truly breathtaking ensemble.
While this marked her 14th time on the Met Gala carpet, it was her debut as one of the event’s chairs. Embodying the theme of the evening, Lopez donned a Schiaparelli Haute Couture butterfly-inspired gown that was the culmination of 800 hours of meticulous craftsmanship and a total of 2.5 million hand-sewn beads. She wore a pair of matching monochrome Andrea Wazen gold satin pointy-toe platforms that accentuated. The open-toed shoes featured a high heel and a thin strap over the ankles.
“It’s such an honor to see my shoes placed of JLo for the biggest night of the year,” Wazen told FN. “I am so grateful to her amazing stylists, Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, for being so supportive of my brand from the very start. I love how she is very often seen in my shoes, and I truly feel she connects with the brand so well — and has become a muse for me when designing each collection.”
The Met Gala raises funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and celebrates the Costume Institute’s annual exhibits. This year’s theme, “The Garden of Time,” celebrates the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit.
The 2024 event is notably co-chaired by Zendaya, Lopez, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. Plus, Lopez’s confidence and poise radiated on the red carpet, befitting her role as co-chair. In an interview with “Vogue,” she shared her excitement about her new role as chair, “You host, you greet all your guests, make announcements for the entertainment. It’s not that bad, it’s quite the honor.”
