The Peaky Blinders crime gang is returning to Birmingham — with creator Steven Knight confirming that the British period drama will be adapted for the silver screen.

Cillian Murphy will step into Tommy Shelby's shoes once again and begin filming in England's West Midlands this September. The film will be set during World War II, moving forward a few years after the end of the TV series, which took place in the aftermath of World War I.

Speaking about Murphy's casting in the new film, Knight has said, "He is definitely returning for it. We're shooting it in September just down the road in Digbeth. The film, I know exactly what it's about. And I know what two stories it's going to tell. How the story will unfold, I don't know," he told Esquire and BirminghamWorld earlier this year.

While the extended cast hasn't been revealed, the Peaky Blinders film will likely premiere in 2025. Stay tuned for more information coming soon.
