Chris Evans Flaunts Wedding Ring in First Public Confirmation of Marriage

Actor Chris Evans appeared giddy in love during a panel at New York Comic Con on Oct. 14, as the star publicly confirmed his marriage to Alba Baptista for the first time since it was reported that they tied the knot in early September.

The 42-year-old flaunted his ring as he conversed with Popverse's Veronica Valencia to discuss his life and career plans. During the panel, Evans confidently said, “I got married. It was really, really great," leading the crowd to cheer in celebration.

As the actor sat there, wearing a blue bomber jacket and black pants, he occasionally held the microphone with his left hand, with his new wedding ring on display.

Going into further detail, Evans described how he and Baptista had two wedding ceremonies, one in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and another in Portugal: “We kind of had two ceremonies. We had one on the East Coast, we did one in Portugal—my wife’s Portuguese. But they were just … wonderful and beautiful. It’s a lot planning a wedding—for those of you who are married you know, it takes a lot out of you.”

A few high-profile friends in attendance at the Cape Cod ceremony were Evans' Marvel co-stars Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr. and Jeremy Renner, as well as John Krasinski and Emily Blunt.

Evans continued, talking about the couple's life as newlyweds, saying, "But now that we’re through that, we’ve just kind of been enjoying life, gearing up for autumn — my favorite season. It’s, like, the best time of year right now. Now we’re just relaxing and enjoying life and reflecting."

The Captain America star first confirmed his relationship with Baptista in January 2023 with a since-deleted social media post. However, reports of a romance between the two first started in early 2022.

While Evans is well-known for his work in Marvel films and other hits like Knives Out and Lightyear, Baptista is making a name for herself as an actress as well, most notably starring in Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris and the fan-favorite Netflix series Warrior Nun.
