Child's Confusion Over French Bulldog 'Chatting Him Up' Is an Absolute Riot

Don't you sort of wish that your dog could talk to you? You tell your pup all of your problems — wouldn't it be nice if he could respond? That's not exactly a problem for a French Bulldog owner, whose pup Sunny is a talker. Yes, really! Sunny loves to chat. And video of Sunny surprising a toddler with his chatty ways is totally hilarious.

The boy was out with his mama when he was adorably caught off guard by Sunny, who had a lot he wanted to discuss.

The video from Sunny's mama paints a funny picture. The toddler in one stroller on the left, Sunny in another stroller on the right. Naturally with a doggy close by the boy was going to want to pet him. But well — Sunny seemed to have an opinion about it. "A-wooOOoo," Sunny whines.

The look on the child's face is everything. He looks positively shocked. But of course, the little one tried to pet the doggy one more time. He had to see if the pup would make the noise again! And you'd better believe that Sunny started "chattering" again.

Frenchies Are Vocal Dogs

While you might not hear your dog "talking" to you all the time, French Bulldogs are somewhat known for being vocal pups. Not necessarily barkers, Frenchies do have a way of getting their points across. They like to howl, growl, yip, gargle, and yawn when they're feeling talkative.  Some people, like this boy, might be surprised by the noises Frenchies make. They're sort of weird. These expressive pups can seem like they're speaking their own language. But no one would say they are necessarily loud or yapping pups.

There are actually reasons why Frenchies make the noises that they do. One reason is that they're a brachycephalic breed — meaning "flat-faced" or "short-headed." Like Pugs, Frenchies have a hard time breathing. Hence all those cute snorts. Frenchies also have an elongated soft palette, i.e. the tissue between the mouth and nose. Which is why they might snore at night.

What is guaranteed is that French Bulldogs will definitely have you cracking up with their hilarious sounds. Just like people in the comments section who couldn't stop laughing.

"Sunny is like, 'more pets please. Don’t stop or leave me hanging…'" one person joked. "This model has touchscreen command," another commenter teased. "Tell 'em little man," a third person joked.

Later in the thread, Sunny's page chimed in with their own explanation for what was going on. "He didn't understand my French."
