Child Safety Fair highlights local resources

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County and the Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center hosted a Child Safety Fair.

The event was free and open to the public on Sunday afternoon at OJ Watson Park.

The focus of the event was not only how to keep children safe, but empowering them for the future.

“A lot of people don’t know about the hidden gems around town for the resources that are available, that are possibly offered for free,” said Jordan Tate, the director of advocacy for the WASAC. “So that’s why we wanted to bring this fair together, so people can come out, have fund, and meet people and find some new safety tips.”

Tate said it was important for the two organizations to partner together to bring out resources to those in need. For those resources, visit wichitasac.com and cacsckansas.org.
