Chihuahua rescued from under Round Table Pizza will be available for adoption

(KRON) — An abandoned Chihuahua that was found living under a Round Table Pizza location on South Novato Boulevard will soon be up for adoption, the Marin Humane Society said. Animal services personnel were able to capture the dog last week using a loaned electronic trap with the help of volunteers.

According to an update from Marin Humane, no family came forward to claim him. The dog, who humane personnel are calling “Pupperoni” as a nod to where he was found, is currently being evaluated medically and behaviorally.

Pupperoni is thriving in a foster home where he’s made friends with another Chihuahua and even the resident cat, according to shelter officials. He’s also enjoying scenting classes for shelter dogs and “generally being an awesome little dude,” Marin Humane said.

Anyone interested in meeting Pupperoni when he’s available is encouraged to contact Marin Humane.
