Chemung County Habitat for Humanity to hold Women Build 2024

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) — Women from the Elmira area will be coming together to work on a Habitat for Humanity home during Mother’s Day weekend.

Women Build 2024 invites women of all ages, backgrounds, and skill sets to spend a day serving their community while learning new skills, supporting other women, and having fun. This year, the event will take place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, at a yet-to-be-announced location in Elmira. Registration is required to join.

Participants will have the chance to win prizes from local businesses, and each person will automatically entered into the drawing after registering. Participants can purchase $1 tickets for more chances to win at the event.

Those interested in participating in Women Build 2024 can register using this link. Registration costs $25, and the fee includes a t-shirt, water, and snacks. Chemung County Habitat for Humanity will send those who register email updates about the event, including the location once it’s determined.

According to Habitat for Humanity, women and children are the most likely groups to be impacted by poor living conditions. Women Build events were designed to give women the opportunity to learn skills that will make lasting impacts in their communities.
