Chelsea Handler Celebrates 49th Birthday From The Slopes Of Whistler

Comedian and actress Chelsea Handler handles birthdays like nobody's business. I mean, how many of us have skied while wearing a backpack--with a dog in it? Add to that the challenge of wearing nothing but a bikini, with a full drink in hand, spilling nothing on the way down.

Skiing with one dog in tow is good, but skiing with two dogs on board is pure talent.

The bikini skiing tradition is one Handler enjoys every year, but this birthday (49, to be exact) has to be her best one yet.

Set to the soundtrack of a mashup of In Da Club by 50 Cent and The Bee Gee's Stayin' Alive, Handler looks absolutely care free as she cruises down the slopes of Whistler, BC, (where she owns a house) looking ready for a Caribbean vacation.

Handler hosted the Critics Choice Awards in January and was inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame in 2022.

She is also an avid skier and POWDER reader.

In a guest column for The Hollywood Reporter published in February 2023, Handler reports that she "went to Whistler for the first time for my 38th birthday with girlfriends."

"I've been going there every year for Christmas with my family and for my birthday in February."

Handler said her house in Whistler serves her "three main passions in life"—"reading books, cannabis and skiing."

But specifically, the comedian explained this bikini-skiing celebratory tradition on an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, saying, "my birthday's coming up. I'm leaving here and I'm going to Whistler. This is where I go for skiing – I love skiing, skiing is my passion."

"So every year I film a birthday video celebrating myself skiing topless down a mountain."

We're here for it, and we can't wait to see how this can be topped next year for the iconic 50th.
