Centerton woman buys 500 books to give to children

CENTERTON, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Centerton resident wants to make sure kids in the area have enough books to read.

Beatrice Bell is originally from Belgium. She says reading helped her learn English and talk to her now husband. She wanted to give back by starting “Centerton Reads.”

She established six little libraries around town, so kids and adults would be able to find free books. Bell hopes this will inspire the next generation.

“Today a reader, tomorrow a leader and that is what I want to see coming from our town,” Bell said.

Bell says she is nearly out of the 500 books she bought last month for the little libraries. Of the six little libraries available, one of them is only for adults.
