Open to all nationalities and ages, with the requirement being that the talent is not yet or has not been represented by an agent or gallery, the photographic residency will offer the winner a financial award of 15,000 euros, an all-expenses covered residency at one of Belmond’s 47 properties across 28 countries and territories, a publication in partnership with RVB Books, a showcase in a global city, and mentorship from Belmond’s global network of photographic experts.

Prizes for the runner-up will be revealed at a later date.

The winner and runner-up will be announced during Paris Photo, slated for Nov. 7 to 10.

Candidates will be sourced from both jury-nominated and open call submissions. Artists will be invited to submit either a new or unpublished existing body of work of 10 images that depict a particular place, destination or culture.

For the occasion, Belmond is also launching a series of limited-edition art books created in partnership with artists from the Belmond Legends campaign, which includes original commissions from artists including Capitán, Rosie Marks and Letizia Le Fur.

It will be accompanied by an exhibition based on the artists’ respective books featuring never-before- seen work, shot at three Belmond locations: the Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town by Marks; the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express in Europe by Capitán, and the hotel Caruso on Italy’s Amalfi Coast by Le Fur.
