Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden are officially parents of two!

The couple shared the exciting family news on Friday, March 22, announcing in a joint social media statement that they have quietly welcomed their second child.

"We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our Son, Cardinal Madden❤️🙏" the duo wrote on Instagram Friday. "He is awesome and We are all so happy he is here!"

Diaz, 51, and Madden, 45, said they won't share any public photos of their new little one for safety reasons, but they promised fans that the new babe is "really cute."

The spouses, who have been married since 2015, are also parents to their first-born child, a daughter named Raddix, 4. When announcing Raddix's birth with a social media post in January 2020, Madden and the Shrek actress made a similar statement about prioritizing their family's privacy, noting that they wouldn't post any pictures of their newborn at the time.

In their joyful Instagram announcement on Friday, the married pair told fans they feel "so blessed and grateful" to have expanded their family.

"Sending much love from our fam to yours 🙏❤️," the proud parents of two added.

Diaz and Madden did not previously share that they were expecting another child, but sources have speculated for years that the couple wanted another baby.

"Cameron and Benji have discussed having another child and have even been looking into surrogate options for a while now,” an insider told Us Weekly in July 2022. "Benji always wanted a big family, and Cameron didn’t need to be persuaded after the arrival of their daughter."

After their announcement on Friday, friends of the couple took to the comment section on Instagram to share their congratulations.

Among the sweet messages they received was one from Madden's twin brother, Joel, who left a series of red heart emojis under the post, "❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️."

Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz also shared some sparkle emojis in light of the good news, "✨✨✨," while Lionel Richie chimed in with a simple brown heart, "🤎."
