CHILLICOTHE — Expecting mothers can now see their babies in 4D right in Chillicothe thanks to the new ultrasound studio, Bonding Moments.

Becky Colcord and her family, Timber Colcord and Samantha Streeter, recently opened the ultrasound studio as a way to let expecting mothers and families bond better and see their babies. Colcord said the studio does not do anything medical, instead, they focus on helping form a bond and ease the minds of mothers.

"It is truly a bonding moment," said Colcord.

During the ultrasound, those in the room get to see the baby in 2D and 4D form. The 4D form also shows a live view of the baby, some have been seen yawning, playing with their toes and sucking their thumbs. During that time many new mothers can hear the heartbeat of their babies.

During the ultrasound, the image is displayed on an 86-inch television which helps others in the room and the mother see the baby better. Pictures and videos will also be taken of the babies to be sent to the family for them to share and enjoy.

Colcord started the studio after driving almost an hour away to see her grandchild in this type of scan. During these trips, she would meet many people who traveled even further just for a chance to see their baby. That is when she knew this type of business would be great for Ross County and the surrounding communities.

"This is something I think is going to be good for the community," said Colcord.

The studio also features a small shop where families can buy stuffed animals with recordings of the baby's heartbeat in them as well as essentials for the mother, like a body pillow, essential oils, water bottles, lotions and more. Streeter also offers customizable press-on nails with images from the ultrasound on them.

Bonding Moments is located in Segal Square at 83 East Water Street in Chillicothe. The studio plans to officially open on May 1.
