Brunch, polka and plants: Celebrate the moms in your life with these Mother's Day events in the Sheboygan area

SHEBOYGAN COUNTY — Looking for a way to celebrate the special mom or motherly figure in your life this Mother's Day?

Sheboygan County businesses are gearing up with brunches, pot planting and polka dancing. Here’s a guide to some events next weekend, May 10-12.

Press Apartments: Press Apartments, former newspaper headquarters, are now open in downtown Sheboygan

Polka dancing, pot planting and brunches planned for Mother’s Day weekend

3 Sheeps Brewing Company, 1837 North Ave. in Sheboygan

The brewery will team up with Harvest Street and Peja Vu food trucks for brunch from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 12, offering creative variations on brunch foods, like Rhubarb parfait French toast, asparagus breakfast tacos, roasted strawberry grilled cheese, static chicken chalupa, apple bacon hash and spring pea pasta.

The Black Pig, 821 N. Eighth St. in Sheboygan

Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Buffet items include an assorted mixed green salad, chocolate chip banana bread, blueberry lemon scones, aged cheddar and rosemary bagels, omelet station, Marsala braised Berkshire pork shoulder, and honey and garlic grilled Bell & Evans chicken. Adults are $44.95 and children 12 years old and younger are $16.95. Reservations are encouraged. Call the restaurant at 920-457-6565.

Blackwolf Run Restaurant, 1111 W. Riverside Drive in Kohler

Brunch, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 12, will offer various salads and platters, a pancake, omelet and egg station, carving station and children’s buffet. Adults are $65 and children 5 to 12 years old are $25. Kids 4 years old and younger are free.

Blue Harbor Resort's Beacon Restaurant, 725 Blue Harbor Drive in Sheboygan

The Beacon Restaurant will host a Mother's Day Luncheon, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 12. The menu features smoked salmon and braised fennel salad, grilled eggplant caprese salad, Tuscan mushroom and duck soup, lemon tarragon chicken salad wrap, French dip, spinach Boursin stuffed airline chicken and salmon en croute. Moms dining at the restaurant can order a free mimosa. Call 920-457-9810 to make a reservation.

Bookworm Gardens, 1415 Campus Drive in Sheboygan

The Gardens welcomes mothers, mother figures and their families from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 11 and 12 for story time, artmaking and a scavenger hunt. Mothers will be gifted a potted plant, while supplies last. There is no charge for mothers, Bookworm members and children 2 years old and younger. Pre-registered Sheboygan County resident tickets are $10 and non-resident tickets are $12. County resident tickets are $12 at the gate and non-residents tickets are $14 at the gate.

The Bull at Pinehurst Farms, 1 Long Drive in Sheboygan Falls

Brunch at the Manor Event Center at the Bull 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 12 will feature free mimosas for moms, breakfast options like eggs benedict and French toast with berry compote and whipped cream, pesto chicken, Italian pork tenderloin, and assorted desserts and pastries. Adults are $38, kids 6 to 12 years old are $19, and kids 5 years old and younger $3. Call 920-467-1500, ext. 114, to make a reservation.

Caan’s, 4422 S. 12th St. in Sheboygan

Kids and special mother figures can head to the floral shop and greenhouse from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 10-12 to pot a plant. Each planter, including a pot, soil and assortment of annuals, costs $12.

Majerle’s Black River Grill, 5033 Evergreen Drive in Sheboygan

The limited Mother’s Day menu offered 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 12 includes harvest apple salad, broasted chicken and tips, ham steak, creamy parmesan Haddock dinner and 10-ounce tenderloin dinner. Reservations are required. Call 920-803-5115.

Rumors Roadhouse, R7454 Summit Road in Plymouth

The restaurant will host a free Mother’s Day polka dance with Ryan Kautzer Band from noon to 4 p.m. May 12. There will also be a $15 lunch buffet with pulled pork and chicken, baked beans, and more. Free dessert and flowers will be available for moms. Call 920-781-5077 to make a reservation, which is highly recommended by the business.

Town and Country Club Restaurant, W1943 County Road J in Sheboygan

Breakfast items like made-to-order omelets and entrees like chicken piccata and teriyaki glazed salmon will be offered at the brunch, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 12. Adults are $27.99, children 4 to 9 years old are $13.99, and kids 3 years old and younger are free. Reservations are required. Call 920-467-2323.

Wisconsin Room, 419 Highland Drive in Kohler

The Wisconsin Room has a variety of offerings for Mother’s Day, including bakery items, steel-cut oatmeal, smoked salmon platter, frittatas, and baked truffle mac and cheese.
