Britney Spears Channels 'Baby One More Time' School Girl Look

Britney Spears is gearing up for the start of a new year, which means leaving behind the "Circus" that was 2023.
The pop superstar gave her thoughts on the fast approaching start of 2024 in a series of new Instagram shots, where she embraced the future while channeling one of her iconic looks from the past.
In the new snaps, Spears, 41, seemed to be recreating her look from the 1998 "...Baby One More Time" music video, in which she famously dressed in a provocative school girl outfit.
Now, over 20 years later, the Princess of Pop dressed up in her home in a tiny plaid mini skirt, paired with a cropped white blouse, much like the one she wore in the OG video—the only things missing were the two pigtail braids and hot pink hair ties.
"Throwback 2023 !!!" she captioned her post on Tuesday, Nov. 28, while using the nostalgic photo to express her excitement for the new year.
"2023 sucked !!!" she candidly wrote, while adding, "I'm so ready for 2024 🤪🤪🤪 !!!"
Spears has had yet another tumultuous year in 2023, including her split from husband Sam Asghari, whom she married just one year prior. The singer confirmed the couple was "no longer together" in an Instagram post in August.
Spears was also wrapped up in scandal earlier in the year, after a video of her getting slapped in the face by NBA star Victor Wembanyama's security guard went viral in July. At the time, Spears spoke out about the incident on social media, insisting that "physical violence is happening too much in this world," while fortunately, her fan base stood behind her.
But despite this year's lows, 2023 was also the year that Spears released her long-awaited memoir, The Woman in Me, which sold 1.1 million copies in just its first week, per Forbes.
