Bridges on Parkview nearly ready to open

Apr. 19—HENDERSON — Drivers on I-85 might have noticed a new building coming up past the treeline between exists 213 and 214.

That would be Bridges on Parkview, a new 80-bed assisted living facility. It's opening sometime next month, pending its final inspection from the state.

Bridges also offers a specialized memory care unit, around 24 beds, for people with Alzheimer's and dementia. On the assisted living side, there are spaces for physical therapy, a movie theater, meals, a salon, a library and social activities like group outings.

Among those 80 beds, around a fourth are private rooms. They're going for a more homelike atmosphere in the rooms, said Jeanette Toney, area sales manager for the facility.

Though ALG Senior is the parent company, Bridges on Parkview is owned and managed by Bridges on Parkview, she explained.

The facility is billed as affordable with rates starting at $4,300. However, it does not accept Medicaid — though Toney noted that Bridges on Parkview will be around 60% cheaper than rooms in facilities in the Triangle.

The Dispatch has run a few stories about Bridges on Parkview, and the slated opening date has been pushed from late 2023 to sometime next month.

While awaiting its final inspection from the state before it can officially open, no firm date has been set. Approximately 50 people or more will be employed at the facility in a variety of roles, from therapists to chefs.
