Christina Mandrell and Brayden Bowers got engaged at The Golden Wedding

A match made in reality TV heaven?

Flamboyant Bachelorette contestant Brayden Bowers proposed to his latest girlfriend, brash Bachelor competitor Christina Mandrell, live on camera at The Golden Wedding!

The two were guests along with numerous other franchise favorites to watch The Golden Bachelor star Gerry Turner, 72, marry Theresa Nist, 70 on Thursday, Jan. 4 on ABC.

While Brayden and his girlfriend, country singer Barbara Mandrell’s niece, were chatting with host Jesse Palmer the former Bachelor suitor and Bachelor in Paradise villain revealed he would be moving in with Christina in Tennessee.

The San Diego, California hunk noted that they would be beginning the 29-hour drive from California to Tennessee this Saturday with all his belongings in tow.

But then, Brayden said abruptly on camera, “I actually had something else that I had planned for this evening.”

Brayden, who was wearing a cowboy hat with dangly earrings, got emotional and stammered to Christina that he knew “there was something special and something different” between them.

“And then I got to spend time with you and I got to spend time with [your daughter] Blakely. I got to spend time and introduce you to my family and for the first time in my life, I feel like I found someone I can be myself with unapologetically,” Brayden said. “I have no doubts that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. And like Gerry said, we have such little time and Theresa, they’ve been an inspiration but I know that I want to spend the rest of my days with you.

“And so, Christina Mandrell,” the crowd cheered in the background as the handsome travel nurse got down on one knee with a ring.

The teary-eyed beauty knew what Brayden was driving at and shouted, “Yes! Yes!” before he could complete the proposal.

“What?! This is why we got our nails done?!” Christina then jokingly asked him.

“Wow, congratulations and what a Neil Lane sparkler,” Jesse said of the big diamond engagement ring Brayden had put on the pretty blonde’s finger.

Jesse exulted that the two “just got engaged live at The Golden Wedding. This really is a night for surprises. Love is in the air!”

Kathy Swarts and other The Golden Bachelor wedding guests, who witnessed the proposal, then enveloped Christina with hugs.

The sexy country cutie and Brayden became a couple after being eliminated on their respective ABC shows last year.

As fans know, Brayden fought for Charity Lawson as a contestant on her Season 20 of The Bachelorette. But he aggravated viewers and fellow contestants when he kept trying to pack his bags and leave!

Charity finally eliminated her charming but unpredictable suitor, and wound up getting engaged to Dotun Olubeko.

Brayden then went on Season 9 of Bachelor in Paradise, where he romanced a few gorgeous gals, including former The Bachelorette star Rachel Recchia. Still, he wound up leaving the beach alone.

In September, as Parade.com previously reported, he and fellow Bachelorette and Paradise buddy Aaron Schwartzman had a near-death experience after their boat sank during a fishing trip off the San Diego coast. Luckily, they were rescued.

Christina, a single mom to daughter Blakely, 7, with ex-husband Blake Dennis, raised eyebrows on Zach Shallcross’ Season 27 of The Bachelor with her alleged mean girl ways. Zach gave her the boot and later got engaged to his show pick, Kaity Biggar. Zach and Kaity were also Golden Bachelor wedding guests.

Before popping the question to Christina, Brayden had explained to Jesse how he’d met her first through social media.

“She slid into my DMs,” Brayden smiled to Jesse. “And it was funny, we started hitting it off. We would FaceTime every night for like four hours, five hours and one night we started talking and I made a Tenacious D. reference and this woman right here was like, ‘Did you just reference Tenacious D?”

That would be Jack Black and Kyle Gass’ hilarious comedy rock duo that spoofs heavy metal.

Brayden continued, “I was like, you don’t even know anything about Tenacious D. and she’s like, ‘I know I have two tickets to a concert (with them) next week.’”

Brayden was enthralled.

Other things in common? Earrings! Christina told Jesse that “there are so many earrings” in their life.

“There might be some lights and music and rotating displays of earrings” on their social media posts soon, Christina teased.

During Gerry and Theresa’s wedding, cameras showed Brayden and Christina cuddling in the crowd.

After a commercial break, Jesse told viewers that Brayden had obtained permission from his buddy Gerry to propose to Christina at the wedding. Did that really happen or was Jesse just doing damage control after fans took to social media to bash proposal.

Although no one could steal the spotlight from golden couple Gerry and Theresa, who are now husband and wife, Brayden and Christina certainly made waves with their surprise engagement!

Could there be another televised Bachelor wedding ahead—this time with two castoff contestants marrying each other? We're not holding our breath!
