Bobcat Rescued from Busy Road Has the Best Reaction to Humans
On October 26, a wildlife rehab and rescue out of Hammond, Louisiana shared an amazing video of a bobcat they rescued from the side of the road. The really remarkable aspect of this video is how totally calm this wild cat seems to be around people.
This is leading to a lot of speculation that this may have been a pet that was dumped or escaped.
The video, shared by the TikTok account @geauxwildrehab is so remarkable not only for this wonderful rescue, but for how relaxed this animal seems to be around people. TikTok users agree and @Tara asks, "Wouldn’t a wild bobcat be aggressive? Is he emancipated because he was a pet and doesn’t know how to fend for himself in the wild?"

@Crystal replies, "I don’t think he is wild. He is dumped. When he gets better and still isn’t afraid. I think finding a sanctuary for him to live is a better route."
Bobcats are solitary creatures and usually run the other way when they encounter a human, but this guy is perfectly calm. When asked if he could have been a house cat the rescue replies, "Yes it is definitely possible. He will be monitored as time goes on and will not be released if he can't prove he has survival skills."
