Bobbi Brown’s Trendsetting Makeup at Jenny Packham

Anti-beauty is the biggest trend on the runway this New York Fashion Week, and Yahoo Beauty Editor in Chief Bobbi Brown is making waves. Makeup artists are opting for undone skin, clumpy mascara, and smudgy eyes with fallout. It’s the antithesis of the overly contoured, excessively perfected makeup trending on Instagram, and we love it.

“Our new Eye Opening mascara is so thickening that if you squeeze the lashes, they stick together,” says Bobbi Brown. “It’s funny because I have all my artists from all over the globe here and they’re watching me how to badly apply mascara!” Bobbi did the makeup at Jenny Packham’s show on Sunday, and proved that messy makeup can be beautiful.

Models had matte skin with a pink flush, but it was all about the eyes. Bobbi primed with her Hydrating Face Cream ($58) then smoothed the skin with her Foundation Stick ($46), lastly adding a pinch of her Pink Retouching Powder ($38). On the eyes, Bobbi used her new and currently unreleased Sequin Eye Shadow in Wine and Chocolate ($36). She applied a gracious dusting of the sparkly gold powder on the lids and allowed for plenty of fallout onto the cheekbones. Lashes were clumpy and wet looking using Bobbi’s Eye Opening Mascara ($30), suiting the trend of the week, and lips were muted and lightly stained.

Lazy and perpetually late party-goers can thank Bobbi for this easy upcoming trend. Bobbi wanted models to look like they could have done their makeup in the back of a taxi on the way to the show – something we’ve all done at sometime or another – who knew something so easy could be so gorgeous?
