BMX Rider Goes For Redemption Despite Broken Collarbone From First Attempt

As talented and as tough as mountain bikers are, BMX riders are a different breed.

Watch Georgios Ntavoutian take multiple attempts to land a foot jam front flip at an indoor park after fracturing his collarbone.

In this video, George attempted a foot jam front flip off of a deck. After attempting with foam mats, George decided to try for real. In his first attempt, he crashed hard onto his shoulder. Despite fracturing his collarbone in the crash, George was unperturbed and went back for more.

The foot jam technique is when BMX riders pur their foot between their wheel and their fork the way a mountain biker would use a front brake to control their front wheel. Often this method is employed on flat ground when doing a foot jam tailwhip.

Watch BMX YouTuber SONNY explain the trick and demonstrate it below.

George did not technically land the foot jam front flip because of a dab on his closest attempt, but he got dangerously close. Though his collarbone injury will sideline him for a bit, George says he will be back to land it soon.

The fact that George went for this so many times with a broken collarbone tells you everything you need to know about the toughness of BMX riders.

I for one cannot wait to see this trick landed. Perhaps it will trickle down to mountain biking as a revolutionary trick in 2031.
