Blue Bell’s New Gooey Butter Cake Ice Cream Is A Dessert Dream Come True

Blue Bell is celebrating its expansion into St. Louis with a new ice cream flavor inspired a beloved regional dessert.

Gooey Butter Cake Ice Cream is in stores beginning today—the same day Blue Bell products arrive in the Missouri city. The new flavor will be available everywhere Blue Bell is sold, so everyone can experience the St. Louis staple in ice cream form.

Inspired by the traditional treat, Blue Bell’s new Gooey Butter Cake features its Cake Batter Ice Cream combined with a luscious cream cheese swirl and rich, gooey butter cake pieces.

“Our new Gooey Butter Cake Ice Cream is as delicious as the cake made famous in St. Louis,” Carl Breed, vice president, sales and marketing for Blue Bell, said in a news release. “Our ice cream is a great introduction if you have not tasted a gooey butter cake. There are delicious pieces of cake in each bite. And our Cake Batter Ice Cream combined with a cream cheese swirl is, as they say, the icing on the cake.”

The new flavor is being released just in time to celebrate the Texas-based company’s highly anticipated expansion to the St. Louis market. “Today is a special day for Blue Bell,” Breed added. “We are excited to bring our products to St. Louis and the surrounding cities.”

Gooey Butter Cake is available in the half gallon and pint sizes for a limited time.
