Beyoncé Sent an Incredible Gift to Mickey Guyton with the Sweetest Note
After releasing her first country album, Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé is paying her respects to fellow Black female artists, including Mickey Guyton.
Queen B sent Mickey a bouquet of flowers following Cowboy Carter's release, with a note that read: “Mickey, Thank you for opening doors for me, queen. Keep shining. Love and respect, Beyoncé.”
Mickey shared photos of the bouquet with her followers on Instagram, along with a poignant caption. "With opportunity comes possibility. The possibilities are endless with you @beyonce. God gave me an assignment and I followed. May the doors continue to stay wide open," she responded.
After fans saw, they ran to the comments to reiterate how much Mickey deserves this honor, and to applaud Beyoncé's support of other artists in the space.

As many know, Mickey became the first solo Black female artist to be nominated for a Grammy in a country category and the first Black woman to host the Academy of Country Music Awards.
Just recently, Beyoncé made history by becoming the first Black woman to top Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. But diving into the world of country music hasn't been an easy one for her. In 2016, she faced backlash from country music fans first hand at the Country Music Association Awards. Alongside The Chicks (formerly The Dixie Chicks), Beyoncé performed her first country-adjacent song, "Daddy Issues." The performance was not well received at the time, and both Beyoncé and CMA were criticized online as a result.
Beyoncé referenced this experience as a motivation for Cowboy Carter in a recent Instagram post. "It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed…and it was very clear that I wasn’t. But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive.... The criticisms I faced when I first entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me. act ii is a result of challenging myself, and taking my time to bend and blend genres together to create this body of work," she wrote.
Since its release, Beyoncé has been praised for highlighting and honoring other Black country music pioneers and stars on her new album, including Linda Martell, Shaboozey, Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, Reyna Roberts and Willie Jones.
While Mickey is not one of the collaborators on Beyoncé's new album, we're hopeful for a Mickey and Beyoncé duet in the future!
