Beverly Hills Hotel, Casa Cipriani Among Inaugural Three-Michelin Key Properties in U.S.
More than 120 hotels across the country are among the recipients of the inaugural Michelin Key U.S. selection, which honors the “most outstanding experiences and stays” on hotel and resort properties in America.
A spinoff of the popular Michelin Star award given annually to restaurants, this year’s list of Michelin Key properties includes hotels in Atlanta, California, Chicago, Colorado, Florida, New York and Washington D.C. — cities where the Michelin Guide also recommends its restaurant selection.

Eleven hotels were awarded three Michelin Keys — the highest distinction — including The Beverly Hills Hotel; Big Sur’s Post Ranch Inn; SingleThread Inn in Healdsburg (a Relais & Châteaux property); Casa Cipriani New York; and Aman New York, which is the Aman brand’s first foray into a major American city. Michelin calls these properties “the ultimate in comfort and service, style and elegance.”
Other Relais & Châteaux properties that earned three Michelin Keys, meantime, include Auberge du Soleil and Meadowood Napa Valley.
Thirty-three properties earned two Michelin Keys, including West Hollywood’s iconic Chateau Marmont; Peninsula Chicago; Nine Orchard in New York; The Battery in San Francisco; the Faena Hotel Miami Beach; and the Four Seasons Hotel at the Surf Club, just up from Faena in Surfside. The properties were honored for being “a hotel of character, personality and charm that’s operated with obvious pride and considerable care.”
Eighty U.S. hotels earned one Michelin Key for 2024, for being “a true gem with its own character and personality.”
This is the first time the Michelin Key selection has been extended to the U.S., and the brand says 124 properties were honored in total, from more than 1,000 recommendations. The Michelin Key winners are selected by an anonymous “inspection team,” who independently book their own stays or visits. Ratings are based on a number of criteria, including “unique hospitality concept, distinctive character, warm welcome and extremely high level of service.” See the full list of Michelin Key hotels for 2024 here.
