Twice a year, the familiar rumble of revving engines and the sight of choppers flying down Highway 17 returns to the Myrtle Beach area.

The 85th annual Myrtle Beach Bike Week is May 10-19, 2024, overlapping with the Grand Strand’s first PGA Tour tournament from May 9-12, 2024. While the PGA Tour tournament could have as many as 40,000 visitors, Myrtle Beach Bike Week attendance will outmatch even that.

Myrtle Beach Bike Week brings in more than 300,000 people each year, according to the event’s website. For context, South Carolina has 148,851 registered motorcycles in the state in 2021, according to the title loans company TitleMax, 27th in the United States in registered motorcycles per 100,000 residents.

Local dealerships like Myrtle Beach’s Harley Davidson will host events for bike week, and many visitors have already made the trek down to Myrtle Beach before the 85th bike week.
