—Full Moon Hike and Yoga, Berks Leisure Area, 1901 Tulpehocken Road, Wyomissing, 7:30 p.m. Take a few deep breaths, a downward dog or two, and relax for an easy intro session of yoga before heading onto the Union Canal Trail to take in the moonlight. —Memorial Day celebration, Huff's Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Hereford Township. Following the 10:30 a.m. worship service, the Topton American Legion Honor Guard will go to Huff's Church to help in honoring veterans.

May 27:

—Kutztown Memorial Day Parade, forms at Kutztown Fairgrounds, 405 Wentz St., at 7:30 a.m. and departs for Fairview Cemetery at 8. From there, the parade continues to Hope Cemetery, where Dr. Kenneth Hawkinson, Kutztown University president, will give the address.

May 28:

—Baseballtown's Time of Troubles and the Era of Pony Nights, Berks County Heritage Center, 1102 Red Bridge Road, Bern Township, 2 p.m. Brian Engelhardt, historian and author, will present the story behind how between 1962 and 1964 Reading lost three baseball teams in four years — frustrations and struggles on the field, as well as an empty ballpark (except for Pony Night — the one night the ballpark was filled) immediately before the Phillies moved their AA team to Reading beginning play here in 1987 and coming to the rescue. Free.

—Colonial Craft and Demonstration Day, Conrad Weiser Homestead, 28 Weiser Lane, Heidelberg Township, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Visitors will have the opportunity to see numerous 18th century craft demonstrators from a cordwainer to weaving. Learn about the historical context, materials and equipment of the mid- to late 18th century. Free. The onsite bookstore will be open.

Bagley has loved capturing images of a city's architecture wherever he visits, especially in New York City. —Ride with a Ranger, Blue March Visitor's Center, 1268 Palisades Drive, Bern Township, 10 a.m.-noon. Bike with rangers from the Berks County Parks and Blue Marsh Lake. Starting at the Blue Marsh Visitor's Center, pedal across the dam, through the spillway and back, about 2 to 3 miles. Rangers will discuss bike safety and trail courtesy. Free. —Beidler Open House, Allegheny Aqueduct Historical Park, 1130 Old River Road, Robeson Township, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Interpreters will guide visitors through the historic 1783 Beidler House. Allegheny Aqueduct guided walk at noon. Free.

—Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue open house, 60 Vera Cruz Road, East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, 10 a.m.-noon. Meet and greet the golden retrievers and dogs that are available for adoption. Staff is on hand to answer all questions, and food is also available for purchase. No admission charge. —Strawberry Festival, Trinity Lutheran Church, 130 S. Walnut St., Wernersville, 3:30-7:30 p.m., featuring wood-smoked pulled pork, BBQ, nachos and pit baked beans. There also will be strawberries, ice cream and shortcake as well as games, prizes, costume jewelry and homemade baked goods. The Sunday school orchestra will perform from 6-7:30 p.m. You can bring lawn chairs.

June 9:

—Rigg — From Farmer to Trolley Tycoon, Berks County Heritage Center, 1102 Red Bridge Road, Bern Township, 2 p.m. This program tells the story of the life of John Rigg, a poor boy who was born in Berks County, grew up in Lancaster County and left the farm as a teenager, telling a friend he was going to Reading to become a millionaire, and that's exactly what he did. Free.

—Kite Day, Daniel Boone Homestead, 400 Daniel Boone Road, Exeter Township, noon-4 p.m. Bring your favorite kite for an afternoon of kite flying. June 10 marks Benjamin Franklin's kite flying experiment in 1752, where he tied a key to his kite and took it out during a thunderstorm to see if an electrical charge was produced. However, there is uncertainty as to the extent to which this experiment occurred and some historians even believe the famous storm experiment is mostly a myth. In addition to flying your favorite kite, visitors can learn about Franklin and some of his simpler science experiments. There will be some hands-on experiments for families to try. Volunteers will also be demonstrating kite flying throughout the afternoon. Admission for Kite Day is free. Guided tours of the Boone House will be offered at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Guided tour admission: adults $10, seniors (65+) $8, youth (6-17) $5. Children 5 and under and DBHA members are free.

June 12:

—Drop-in art camp: Forest Friends, Bingaman Nature Center, 2660 Hill Road, Lower Alsace Township, 9 a.m.-noon. Adventurers ages 7-12 get ready, the forest is calling. Campers can expect to create among the canopy of Antietam Lake Park's beautiful trails and learn to love the forest for the trees. $10 per child. —Creek Peek: Plants, Berks County Heritage Center, 1102 Red Bridge Road, Bern Township, 6-8 p.m. Take a peek at the ecology of a creek. This family-friendly program introduces a portion of what happens in a creek community, flora and fauna. Guest speakers will focus on the plants of the Tulpehocken Creek watershed. —Berks Photographic Society meeting, GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, 201 Washington St., 7 p.m. Bob Krist will present via a hybrid Zoom session "Authentic Travel Photography in the Age of Instagram." Is authentic travel photography still possible in the age of the selfie and the influencer? In attempting to answer that question, Krist will share the behind the scenes stories from assignments for National Geographic and other magazines, share concrete pointers about how to approach & photograph people on the road, and give a look at the thinking and the images that went into his award winning black and white monograph, "Old Souls & Timeless Places" (Brilliant Press, Exton, PA 2020).This will be a paid event for non-members with a $10 donation. —AmericanaFest, Gring's Mill Recreation Area, 2083 Tulpehocken Road, Spring Township, 3:30-8:30 p.m. Emcee Dave Kline hosts a free jam session prior to a three-act concert covering the broad influences of Americana music. From 4-6 p.m., Dave Kline & The Mountain Folk Band; 6:15-7:15, The Youngers; 7:30-8:30 p.m., The Mikey Jr. Blues Band. Bring your own chairs, blankets and instruments and stay the evening. Food trucks from Wichway Sandwiches and Greco's of Lititz will be on-site and parking is free. Visit the information table for more info during the show and activities for the kids.

—Forest therapy walk, Angora Fruit Farm, 502 Angora Road, Lower Alsace Township, 9 a.m. Join certified forest therapy guide Mette Gleason on the trails of Antietam Lake Park for a forest therapy experience and guided meditation. —Evening on the Green, Daniel Boone Homestead, 400 Daniel Boone Road, Exeter Township, 4-8 p.m. This after-hours event will feature a pop-up biergarten by Sly Fox Brewery as well as wine and mead by Ridgewood Winery and Stonekeep Meadery. Plus enjoy delicious food, frozen treats and non-alcoholic beverages from Wow Wagon and Mister Softee. Guests will be able to enjoy a colonial beer brewing demonstration by the Regimental Brewmeister. The Boone House and Bertolet Log House will be open all evening for tours, and visitors are invited to stroll the grounds as dusk falls. Music on the lawn will be provided by the Subterraneans and Days of Old. Admission: adults $10, seniors (65+) $8, youth (6-17) $5. Children 5 and under and DBHA members are free. June 30:

—Ringgold Band Concert, Conrad Weiser Homestead Park, 28 Weiser Lane, Heidelberg Township, 5 p.m. The patriotic concert is an annual event honoring all military veterans. Veterans can stop by the registration table between 4:30-5 p.m. to register and receive an American flag compliments of the Friends of the Conrad Weiser Homestead. Admission and parking is free. Contributions will be accepted by free will collection. The concert will be held on the front lawn of Weiser home. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Rain date will be Aug. 4.
