Baton Rouge spring art festival in Mid City set to return May 10

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) — A free spring street art festival, hosted by Mid City Merchants, is returning to Mid City Baton Rouge in May.

“I’m so excited this festival is happening again this year, showcasing some of the best local talent, artisans, and business that Mid City has to offer,” said Liz Walker, owner of Elizabethan Gallery, founder of HACN. “

Hot Art, Cool Nights (HACN) will be held on Friday, May 10 from 6-10 p.m. The route for HACN starts at the intersection of Jefferson Highway and Goodwood Boulevard and continues down Government Street to the intersection of Government and 14th Street, according to a news release.

The art festival features art, live music, food vendors and shopping. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet and greet local artists and local businesses, according to a news release.

Some of the businesses that will be taking part in this year’s HACN include Elizabethan Gallery, Reginelli’s Pizzeria, Superior Bar & Grill, Spoke & Hub, Frameworks Gallery, Family and Youth Service Center, Rocca Pizzeria, DIY Disco, Pelican to Mars, Fleurty Girl, MJ’s Cafe, Red Stick Spice Company, Cake Up and a Local Pop-Up Market, according to a news release.

“Mid City Merchants is excited to connect with the community through HACN as we work toward our goal to keep the public familiar with Mid City Merchants and its contributions to the Mid City area, the Baton Rouge metropolitan area and beyond,” said Walker.

The art festival is free and open to the public.
